When you go to someone’s house for an event, such as the book club I’m attending tonight, its polite to bring something with you. Desserts are usually a safe-bet. Things with chocolate: better! When I looked in my pantry today for ingredients, what I found was a lack thereof. However, I was able to pull together enough staples (ones that most people would have available) to make some No-Bake Cookies.
While a little unhealthy these cookies are quick, simple and delicious. I was able to throw mine together in about ten minutes while still caring for my children; the cookies are that easy to make.
The Ingredients:
* 1 3/4 cups white sugar
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 cup butter
* 4 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
* 3 cups quick cooking oats (not instant)
* 1 tsp. vanilla (extract or imitation)
Method
1. Combine ingredients 1-4
In a medium saucepan combine the sugar, milk, butter and cocoa.
2. Cook
Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 1 1/2 minutes.
3. Remove from heat
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the peanut butter, oats, and vanilla.
4. Drop
Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper (or aluminum foil). Let cool until hardened.
5. Eat
Enjoy!
