Update: Cloth Diaper Contest!
We wanted to give this post an update because The Simple Mom blog, one that Jess reads regularly, just came out with a contest for some high-end cloth diapers. The contest ends Sunday night, 11:59 PM EST. We’ve used cloth diapers in the past and are looking to get back into them. If you’ve never given them a try, check out The Simple Mom’s post as she has just done a series on Cloth Diapering 101. |
In this weekly post we share a few links from some of the blogs that we read. There is something here for everyone. Take a look.
If you’ve come across some interesting links, something funny, or even better yet a good contest or two, please leave it in the comments section with a link.
Homemaking
Jess has been reading about this natural alternative to soap lately and really wants to try it. Supposedly it is great for laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, shampoo, etc. Apparently it is also helpful for people with sensitive skin. |
Recipes
JoytheBaker is making a very yummy looking Strawberry Cofee Cake. Someone make it and tell us how it is! |
Our Writing
Evan’s latest Googlesightseeing post, “In Memorial of Pre”, highlights the many locations around Oregon that have been named after legendary track star, Steve Prefontaine. |
Looking back in our archives we’re reminded of the time Jess showed generhonesty and Evan invented a new word. |
Techy Stuff
Google is set to revolutionize how we communicate. They’ve asked the question “What would email be like if it were invented today?” Their answer? Amazing. If you’ve got a little time to spare, check out the video. If not, at least skip ahead to where they are demo’ing the product. It should be out within the year. |
Free Stuff, Cheap Stuff, & Giveaways
Renaissance-Art is a handcrafted leather products shop that gives away one of their prototypes each week. This week they’ve got a leather discbound book cover. Comment on their post to win! |
If you are in need of a new graphics card (or even if you’re not, since its free and worth $200) head over to Techie-Buzz to comment, they’re giving away three ATI-Radeon-3850’s from AMD to celebrate their birthday. |
Something to Make You Laugh
The pointed-haired boss is practicing his scoffing sound on Dilbert. |
Joy of Tech has epitomized most of us computer geeks.
Disclaimer: Although this comic strip does mention sex, it is mentioned in the context of marriage, which is perfectly appropriate – and very funny (at least for us computer geeks and those that are married to one). |
