This post is part of a series where we Get the Word Out about sites that we like and think you might, too.
Today we are Getting the Word Out about Owlhaven, a blog by Mary Ostyn. Mary writes about parenting a large, multi-cultural family (10 kids, 6 through adoption) and has even written a few books. She describes her blog as being about,
“making the most of your resources so that you can have the greatest impact possible on the world around you, beginning, of course, with family.”
Why We Like Owlhaven:
I have been subscribed to the Owlhaven blog for a few years and I love reading what Mary has to write. Her posts range from the topics of adoption, gardening, canning, feeding the crowd, homeschooling, and faith. Everything she writes is so real and applicable to life. Here are a few things that stand out about her blog.
- Very practical. The articles written are about things that pertain to most of our lives (kids, cooking, family decisions) and really have a message of thriving wherever you are in life.
- Informative. I love the articles written addressing different issues. For example, how they began adopting, homeschooling, or gardening, it’s encouraging to read about someone else’s life journey.
- Good web design. The blog site is clean and neat and the categories are organized and clear as well making it an enjoyable experience to visit.
