UPDATE: I started this post a few weeks ago and since then Jeremiah has gotten a seat on our flights. There was still some difficulties with the whole plane situation, but we are hoping it will all work out alright. We leave in two days so we will find out soon! Wish us luck!
I figured that I had better write this post because I don’t want Evan to get too worked up about this issue…again. For the last month or so Evan has been bothering the human relations person at the school in Indonesia about our plane tickets. She kept saying that we should have them in a few days, then a few days, then a few more days…but we never received them (they were e-tickets so it shouldn’t be too difficult). So finally they gave Evan the number for the travel agency which is in California. Evan called and to his chagrin found out that we all have tickets but Jeremiah doesn’t have a seat. That means that Jeremiah is sitting on our laps (and he likes my pregnant lap the best) for a couple short flights then a 20 HOUR FLIGHT! Also the flight was booked so something else would have to be worked out.
Evan had been going on and on for a month about needing those tickets, to make sure all was well and when he finally got some information all was not well. Needless to say he was fairly upset. He contacted the principal of the school who assured us everything will get worked out. We might have to change the date of our leaving etc, but it should all get resolved. The problem was that it was Evan emailing a human resources person at the school who talked to an Indonesian travel agency who talked to the American travel agency, and somewhere in the chaos of different countries and a 15 hour time difference important information got lost.
