The Monkey has officially started the climb towards that last real obstacle standing between him and full-time big boy status: potty training. He’s not a baby anymore. “I’m a man like daddy,” he says, though it sounds more like, “Me man daddy.”
The count for yesterday was 5-1-2.
- 5 times peeing in his potty.
- 1 time pooping in his potty.
- 2 times peeing in his underwear.
Not bad stats I would say. They are going more and more in his favor each day.
Since this is our first time with potty training, we are making it up as we go along. Do you have any tips or tricks for helping The Monkey to be successful? The comments are the place to share!

You could always play sink the cheerios – you put cheerios or something similar in the toilet, and he tries to sink them when he pees. It gives him aiming practice (which is something you want him to learn early on) and it makes it more fun so he’ll want to do it next time. Good Luck!
