“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.”
~ Psalm 46:10
Today is the last day of the school year here in Lippo Cikarang. Our students finished their year yesterday night with a giant graduation party. I didn’t know that so many of my students were musicians; it was like we were all a part of a giant Korean/Indonesian music video. They were quite impressive.
There are so many students and not a few teacher’s that will be moving on next year. They will all be missed.
To my basketball men that are heading off to university here in Indonesia and in America.
Joshua, Yoas: Don’t forget that it is the Lord that has brought you this far. It will be He that takes it to the hole for you, just hang on. Don’t let go. Discover who you are in these next years and let that discovery lead you to be a Man of God. Follow the Lord; then lead.
To my guys and girls that will be studying elsewhere next year; “The Lord bless you, the Lord keep you, the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.”
Jason: Your height will not make you a man, your integrity will. Seek integrity; then step back and watch what the Lord will do with you. You’ll be amazed.
Emily: You brought laughter and smiles when you came, you cause sadness and tears as you leave. Believe that you have touched the lives of your classmates and I. Go and touch the world with that same attitude and no one will have any problem remembering you.
Seo Young: 2KG will not be the same without their third. Don’t forget to use your voice. Speak loud and clear and the world will listen.
Elizabeth: Thank you for your thoughts. You were never afraid to contribute to the conversation.
Citra: It is a rumor that you will not be returning. I hope it is just a rumor.
KC: You have more going for you than just your height. Your body is big to accommodate the size of your heart. Use it.
Kevin: This world is not unlike a game of basketball. Attack life as you would the game and a hole will be made open for you. Don’t be afraid to shoot. Its okay to miss. Just don’t hang on to the ball. Be willing to take that chance.
Melody: Those that win are those that play according to the rules. Realize this and nothing will be impossible for you.
To my colleagues that have been called to shape other lives, elsewhere.
Eric: It has been a pleasure and an honor to follow under your leadership. I pray the Lord would use you mightily in your new school. He has used you mightily here. BTW, the tags in this post are there for you. I hope your Google Alerts caught it.
P. Awi: Most of the time, I do not understand what the Lord is doing while He is doing it. Only hindsight, prayer, and His guidance gives us understanding. Thank you for your service. You have impacted the lives of many students. You have impacted my life.
Evans: We joke that you have been called up to the “Big Show” – but that isn’t too far from the truth. The students here treated you like a superstar. It will not be easy being a star player on a new team. Trust the Lord and He will show what position to play. When you get up to bat, knock it out of the park.
Bimo: You owe me a tour of Jogja. Perhaps we can do that someday while listening to heavy metal, cranked up to 11. Thank you for your questions. They led me to be introspective of my own walk with the Lord.
Lord God, You have brought us through another school year. You have shown us Your favor and Your kindness. We all do this for our love of You; but You loved us first.
