Life has been happening here, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, lots and lots of life.
Here are a few tidbits:
- For the last 3 days Jeremiah has pooped in his big boy potty! He lets me know when he has to poop and I ask him several times a day as well. This is a big step toward a diaper-free child.
- In a few days Silas will be 8 months old and we will have been here for almost a year! It is crazy how fast time flies.
- Jeremiah is a great big brother. He knows that Silas isn’t allowed in the trash can and takes the necessary measures to stop him from getting to it. As soon as SIlas is seen heading toward the trash, Jeremiah go and gets it, puts in the bathroom, and shuts the door all the while saying, “Silas no trash.” He will also go up to Silas and tap his bottom saying, “Silas cords, no” when he makes a move toward the cords we have all over. Jeremiah is always looking out for Silas.
- Silas is a very sly little baby. He can spot food on the floor from across the room and start scurrying toward it. Yesterday I found him with two pieces of Cookie Crisp cereal held tightly in his little fists all wet with slobber. He likes to find illegal toys (i.e. matchbox cars..etc) and pieces of paper to try to chew on when we are not looking. He makes a big fuss when you take these wonderful goodies away from him.
- I went to the mall by myself last Tuesday. Since being here I have only been out 4 times by myself anywhere. I have been to the water park down the road for a massage, to Starbucks for some alone time, to the convenience store when Evan was sick, and then to the mall last week for a gift for a birthday party. I left during the boy’s nap time when Tri was there to listen for them and I took an ojek (the back of a random guy’s motorcycle) to the mall. On my way there, I was just praying for safety. While I go to the mall every week for grocery shopping, it is always with Tri and the boys so being by myself was pretty big.
- My parents are coming to visit us in like 56 days! We will finally have some guests and they will finally be able to meet Silas in person.
That is all I can think of for the moment, but I am sure there are more tidbits to come.
