About a month ago a blog that I frequently read, Google Sightseeing, put out an open call for new writers. Currently the blog has 15,000 unique visitors to the site with another 115,000 people subscribing using their RSS feed and a blog reader such as Google Reader.
I wasn’t sure if it was something that I could do or would be something that others would want me to do, but I thought I would shoot the writers, Alex & James Turnbull, an email and express my interest nonetheless. In response, they asked me to write up a trial post.
I wrote and submitted an article.
Then about three weeks ago I received an email with Alex and James asking me to join their team! It was a fantastic day. This will be the first time that I am paid to write, which is a aspiration of mine. Eventually, I would love to write full time.
Well, they introduced me and the other three new writers last week and just a few minutes ago published my first post.
