Update 2: The plan was to donate two HP Mini’s that I bought after selling the 14″ laptop to another teacher to a school that is part of the foundation I work for. Well, they ended up not wanting the computers. So far we’ve been able to hold a writing contest with another one of the school’s and gave one of the netbooks away to a graduating senior as she goes to university. We’re waiting on the Lord’s direction for the other one.
Update: I was just reminded by a commenter about something that I forgot to tell you all as well. Last week I won a piece of software, called Camstasia 6, which is a top end screen capturing tool. Gottabemobile.com hooked me up with that sweet win. I hope all of my readers will check out both them and BostenPocketPC.com.
I’ve heard from several of you that you are looking forward to the next part to my previous post where I was able to share a dinner with Pak James Riady (a billionaire Christian businessman, philanthropist, & ultimately my boss) with 23 other people last Monday. And I will continue that fantastic story a little later. Probably today sometime.
But I must interrupt this scheduled broadcast to bring some exciting news (no, Jess isn’t pregnant again… yet).
Just like last May when I competed in the 31 Days of the Dragon contest where HP & Microsoft gave away 31 humongous 22″ laptops through 31 different blogs (one of which I nearly one, just 17 votes shy), I entered another contest just last week.
Once again, HP & Microsoft are at it again in the HP Magic Giveaway. This time though, they are not only giving away one laptop. This time they are giving away a kit made up of four computers: an HP 25″ Touchsmart, an 18″ laptop, a 14″ laptop, and a Mini 1000. And they are giving a kit (of all those computers and more) to 50 different individuals through 50 different blogs.
And I won!
In fact, I won on the exact same blog as I nearly won last time. But what is even cooler, though I shared my story of how I would use the computers to bless the education system here, the winner was still picked at random! God is so good!
We look forward to receiving, using, donating, and blessing others with this fantastic kit.
And you should try for it too! There are still like 43 kits left. You can find out more information and the schedule in which you must compete here. Each contest lasts for one week.

[...] Encouraging you to win some free computers got me thinking about the gear we ourselves own. About 8 months ago, I received the surprise that every computer geek wants to receive: someone wanted to give me some free gear! It wasn’t just any gear either – it was well over $6,000 worth of computers (4), a printer, dvds, software, and more. I was happily one of the recipients of the HP Magic Giveaway. [...]
